265DEH Comp?

Will a stock 400 work with a comp 265DEH cam with the 2-barrel still on it? Will there still be any improvement or will it just kill it with the 2 barrel? I havent got quite enough money for the carb/intake swap yet.

it will do but in my opinion , on a stock 402 your best bet due to compression and eficiency would be a comp cam xtreme energy xe256h....

Would the 265DEH be better with pistons from tmeyer or would the xe256h still be better?

xe262h or 265deh. but getting an aluminum 4bbl intake and carb with the tmi pistons, cam, straight up timing chain and headers will make it an animal compared to what it is now.

It'll work, just not to it's potential. If you're a few bucks shy of a intake/4 barrel fight temptation and wait untill you can do it all at once. You'll save money in gaskets, and you'll save alot of teardown/put together time.

I'm speaking from experience here, I did the exact same thing a couple of years back. 265 Deh k kit, Eddy intake, Holley Truck Avenger, and was more than pleased with the results. I never thought that the speedometer could move that fast......till I put a re-curved DUI dizzy on it, I had a hard time getting to 4500rpm before but after the new ignition I have to watch it because it'll easily go over 5000 !!!!!

Im gonna go with you guys, save my money up then do everything at once. Might save enough to go ahead and do a complete rebuild even though it don't need it, motor runs great to be all stock. I love the 400 especially since this one is a actual factory ordered 400 not a converted 351M. I wonder why more people didnt want the optional 400 in their Broncos? Almost all of them were ordered with the 351M. I know all you have to do is change crank and pistons to make a 351M a 400 but aint it a little more special to have a Bronco that came with the motor that was already 400 cubic inches?
