Hi All.. (93 Ranger Standard tranny)Lately I have heard a bit of a whining sound when shifting gears just as I push in the clutch. Yesterday I went out of town and at one point could not get thet truck to go into gear after problems downshifting and had to shut it off and mess around until I could finall get 3rd gear so I could drive the final 10 miles to my destination.
My friend offered me his truck and trailer to bring it home and there was no trouble getting into reverse or first this time as I loaded it.
I did not want to try to make the trip home n case something jammed up or gave and my wife was with me.
So,let me say the clutch was replaced about 1 1/2 to 2yrs ago and I am thinking aftermarket crap and it did not last.I am going out to check the fluid level as soon as it is light but just wondering what experiences others have had with clutch problems. I am hoping ti is not a transmission bearing or something like that.
Any thoughts?

Two initial thoughts. First, yes, fluid. Second, when you had the clutch done did they just do the plate and disk or an entire kit including pilot and release bearings? If the bearings were not done that may be your issue, unless the low quality problem you fear is indeed the case.
