And that's what I don't get...I always get answers like that. He's always been competitive in the toughest football conference in America with the exception of the '05 season. It seems like the first sign of not winning 9-10 games a season and people want his head. I mean seriously the guy almost wins 3 out of every 4 games he coaches. In the last 10 years he's won a National title, he's gone to the SEC title game 6 times and won outright 2 or 3 times. I realize you look at the USC's, Ohio State's, Texas', etc, and see how they dominate their conferences (because they're so soft), but that just doesn't happen in the SEC. Especially when you average 6 SEC teams in the top 25 anytime throughout the year. So there has to be a reason on why you don't like somebody, especially someone you've never met, and doesn't hold any weight in the way your life turns out...if there's not a reason that's just plain ignorance. So if one of you VOL fans can enlighten me on why Fulmer is so disliked, please do.
I dislike Fulmer because of his attitude. I met him about 13 years ago when I was in high school, I was working for foodcity in alcoa and one night he came in there to buy a few things. Me and some of the other guys tried to speak to him and he would not even acknowledge that we was there. I am still a Vol fan and always will be, I just have no respect for fulmer as a man. I work at the stadium and at the arena.Every time Pat Summitt or Bruce Pearl walks by they speak to me and my co-workers, and act like they are just one of us. I guess Fulmer thinks he is just to good. I am sure he gets tired of people talking to him all the time, but he could have said a little something to a couple of high school kids. Oh well-lets roll through UAB and GRILL some gators.GO VOLS
My good friend grew up in Knoxville and bleeds Orange. But he too is disgusted that Fulmer just got his contract extended. He's also calling for Fulmer's head.
The Vols stale game lately is making it hard to get exited about them. It seems like there's alot of potential being pissed away.
I mean, considering the winning history and huge support, the Vols should be able to recruit the very best. And the coaching staff has all the backing it needs to stay fresh and vibrant. But it just seems like they're resting on their laurels.
Fulmer is the head of the team, he needs to perform or get out of the way.
