Well, the topic's about getting parts off of different vehicles, and i'd say 80-86 ford trucks are different from 87-91,so one of the things I did was grab an 87-91 cowl panel for my 1980..

That'll give me a perfect excuse to get a good set of headers for this 83 F-150 I have.
I am planning a bare block rebuild and with the parts I have and those I can get easily enough, 375 hp is not going to be far off when done.
I already have a list of specific parts I need yet and prices on my desk here.

They can be found on 92+ Explorers. Look for the ones with ||| lines on the front not ||||. Those are GT40 P heads and require expensive Ford Motorsport headers due to the angle of the plugs.

For a cheap cast iron set of heads, you can get about 30-40 rwhp out of your motor.

I'm looking for set for my 5.0 as we speak.

Whats the average going price for a set nowdays ??
I need to go to my local boneyard and start looking for a good set.

I got a pretty nice seat with lumbar support and a fold down center section out of a 94 XLT to put in my 86 yesterday and some door strikers also and a nice set of grab handles for the outside,I also got a ford ignition switch and overdrive switch for my bronco everything for $20.

I think I am going to go back to the 94 XLT and grab the carpet, seat belts and the rear plastic trim with the speaker grills and the headliner,I most likely will only have to buy the guys there some coffee for them.

Ok so if I want the GT 40 heads off of an explorer to go on my 351W all I've got to do is drill the bolt holes out and they'll fit right on with no other mods? Mine is an HO motor, would the GT 40 heads still be better than what I've got? Thanks.
BTW you can always grab the class III and IV hitches off of newer trucks and fit them to our older ones with little modification. The yard don't even charge you for them half the time.

I decided to convert my 85 EEC to Duraspark. I though I'd run over to a local yard at lunch time to see what I could get. Let me tell you a secret ! That's the time to hit the yard ! I pulled a bunch of harnesses with coils and modules thinking I'd piece together what I needed. When I went through the office to pay, the only person there was a Gal who had no clue. Guess the guys were at the bar. She looked at my pile of greasy wires and such and said "$ 7 bucks" ! Hell I had 3 modules, harnesses and coils. I then picked up a rebuilt distro cheap at PEP Boys. The conversion cost me less than $50 !

Sure you can buy them new.
Depending on what belt and accessory bracket configuration you have there are 3 or 4 mountings. You have to figure out which one is for you.
There are many threads on this. You can search this site, or go to http://www.fordfuelinjection.com/
Ryan has a section outlining the differences and which vehicles they come in.
