Junkyard 16x6, 5 on 5.5" BC wheels?

The '49/'50 (still sorting out conflicting vin id info) F1 I just bought came with one stock 16" wheel and four 15" wheels of unknown origin, all with 5x5.5" bolt centers.

I'd like to upgrade to 16x6, 5 on 5.5" BC steel wheels if I can do it cheaply with junkyard parts. What trucks/cars did these come on, if any? (16x5.5 might work as well.)

Hmmm. Maybe I should just go with the 15's? Anyone have pics of a '48-'50 F1 with 235/75R15s on it?

51dueller - I went to your gallery, but it seems to be empty...

My 49 F-1 has 235/75R 15" tires on it. 15"x5" rims in front 15"x5 1/2" rims in back. See if you can access my gallery.

DonF - Thanks! No problem seeing your gallery. I think I'd prefer 16" wheels on my pickup, but the 235/75R15's definitely look good. (Plus, the 15" wheels are already on the truck!) Good to have options...

As for the original question, I guess there's not much in the way of 16" junkyard wheels?

Be carefull, a freind of mine found some 16" steel rims at a yard, sandblasted, painted, put on new rubber only to find that the old rims were so far out of balance (perhaps bent) that he never got them trued enough for use. All that cash and he wobbles down the road.
