Up at my mom's place in Lander, she has a nice pot-bellied wood stove that was great for heating her house. I just like a real fire place, and I kind of like going out and doing the cutting/splitting firewood thing!

I always think that there is something else I could be doing. But I do have a nice poulan 16" chainsaw, not to heavy and I can control it. Plus have a nice axe that is not to heavy. So I really can't complain.

My father in law has a big splitter that runs off of his tractor, so that makes splitting a breeze! I need to get a new chain saw, mine gave up the ghost this summer.

The splitter is so nice. The neighbor has one. A new chain saw, what if the wife wants it. Thats how I got mine, I told my husband that I wanted his new one and he went out and bought me one.

Well, she knows I need it. We had a ton of large branches come off of our trees from a storm in June, and I pretty much wore it out then. I'll really need it if we went back to wood for the fireplace.

Huh! We had big fat snowflakes here yesterday. Probably snowed about an inch. Fall had better hurry or winter will cut in line!

I'm with you. We have a test and tune Saturday, and our final race on the 20th. I'd like to think I wont need chains on my slicks!

Where do you do your test and tune and race? If I'm in town on Saturday I'd like to stop by and have a look.

Go north from the rodeo grounds, like you are headed to Woodruff. It's about 6.3 miles. We are on the old airstrip on the west side of the highway. If you get to the Hornet's nest, you went too far. We start all of our events at 11:00am. Come on out.

Here's a map:

my last day of the year will be on sunday. got the new carb set and ready to go. the new headers came in today. they are not exactly what i wanted but they are 2 1/8" primaries with a 3 1/2" collector and a nice big flange port that will not cover half the exhaust port like my crappy hedmans do now. Hoping to get a nice 11.80 out of the final day.
