I had when cold 4 weak injectors and when it warmed up I still had 2 weak injectors. It was hard starting and would not run worth a darn until it ran a couple miles or unless I turned the chip up. While replacing one that showed ok was cracked.
So I did some research and talked to a good diesel mechanic I know and decided to go with the Swamps 175/146 single shots and man did that wake the big old truck up it starts great and runs great.
I still plan on getting the DP Tuner and have Jody tune to the single shots because the high idel is off a little and these SS injectors are suppose to help mileage but mine have not yet.
I just put them in Friday and I cant keep my foot out of it yet. And if I want to blow BIG smoke or burn rubber I just turn this little home made chip up and mash the go pedel.
I give SWAMPS a big thumds up
Yes they are and any one that has a tuner and then puts them in will have to get the chip reburned but oh well its worth it.
I have enjoyed the extra power.
I'm a little confused. Are you running the single shot injectors with split shot programming? Isn't she running rough at low rpm? Or did you get the chip reburned at Swamps also?
It's running great all but the fast idle is a little high on the RPM;S and it stays up when I shift real fast I have not got this chip reburned yet. I am thinking about getting the DP to help clam the idle down and get the MPG I should get.
She is running ok at low idle now?.
How do you like the Swamp SS injectors?.
I've been very happy with them also. Added about 50 extra HP and really enjoyed pulling the camper with this setup this year. Never had the SES light to come on again like before and bumped up the fuel milage. I would recommend you check into Tony Wildman's tunes (www.totaldieselperformance.com) - he did a great job with the tunes when I got these injectors (Tow, heavy tow, daily driver, extreme, high idle). Plus he will be able to reburn your 6 Pos chip and save you some $. If you go with DP I don't think they will reburn the chip IIRC, you will have to buy the F5 or the newer one.

Are you sure you got the stage I 175/146 single shots and not the 175/146 split shots? Single shots (175/146) run about $1575 and the split (S/175/146) run about $1050. I find it curious that the truck runs so smooth with the split shot programming on the chip. Ussually it is the oposite,
single shot injectors & split shot programming = runs rough
split shot injectors on single shot programming = runs smooth.
Yea I am sure they are the 175/146 SS injectors A freind of mine that has his on Diesel Truck shop and has a tie with swamps got these for me for $1475 + $90.00 shipping and handling thats also for shipping my cores back to swamps.
I said its running great will it is compared to the way it was running before. It had 4 weak injectors.
It runs a little rough at idle or slow speeds but out on the open road it runs fine but I still need to get reprogramed.

Gotcha Eddie - just wanted to make sure. Initially something sounded a little wierd.....just wanted to make sure someone wasn't taking you for a ride.
You will love how those injectors perform even more with the right tuning -.

I second that! I just got back from Tony's this weeknd for some live tuning. Definitely made big improvements, can't wait to hook the trailer up to it and see it perform.
