Hi all. I need a hand with my wife's '91 Cougar. It died the other day and after towing it home I checked and found no pressure at the shraeder valve. Replaced the pump, no change, replaced the relay. Now I have pressure at the valve(not sure how much just know I actually get a bunch of fuel out now. I'll get a guage tomorrow and check it) But still no start. replaced the regulator for fun. Still the same. I have good spark so it must be a fuel problem but where. filter is a year old. I checked the safety cut off switch in the trunk and its fine. Checked the PCM relay and it show no good but I'm not sure about that cause I'm gettintg power after the relay and if the relay was bad I wouldn't. Also Auto zone says they want $150.00 for that relay so I want to be sure. I pulled the codes and got a 181 (right side lean at part throttle) and a 332 ( egr valve not opening) Not sure if either of those would cause a no start. Any other Ideas? Thanks
Checked the injectors, they were fine. I pulled the plugs and smelled fuel on them so I rechecked spark. Popped the distributor cap and found the rotor center contact had broken off and was laying across the rotor and firing the wrong hole. Just tuned this thing a couple months ago with some hi quality Auto Zone parts. Threw in a new rotor and she fired right up.
