Guys, please confirm that my fuel pump is done. My wife's Navigator would not start the other night. After countless attempts, it started right before the tow truck driver loaded it. The truck drove home fine. Yesterday I cleaned the IAC valve (it wasn't too dirty) and connected a fuel pressure gauge to the shrader valve. Once again started after several tries. Pressure was ~35 psi at idle. Turned it off and it would not restart. Pressure indicates zero during cranking.
I swapped relay with the wiper relay, no change.
I've verified continuity all the way to the inertia switch, it was good.
I also installed a jumper across the relay terminals and still have no fuel pressure.
I'm pretty sure that the pump is toast, but have a couple questions:
1. Is there anything else I should check?
2. Is the fuel pump electrical connector accessible so I can verify the last part of wiring before I drop the tank?
Make sure it's as empty as you can get it. Makes it way easier, and take care when dropping to not break any hoses or lines. If you drop it slow you can disconnect a bit at a time. Goodluck.
