Well I received my custom valve body from Racer X, but no instructions. I e-mailed them but not answers yet.
Im not a mechanic but I think Im not a bad DIYurselver (spel?), but I need help in this, how easy is to intall the VB?, is just bolt on?; tricks, tips, torque specs etc, etc?. any write ups?.
I also got my TW chip ( from a dealer), but first I want to do the VB installation and test the tranny with that before to put the chip, and I have a question, I told them when I ordered the chip that I was going to install the custom VB, but I have the doubt if they burned the chip or not, what happens if they did without knowing about the VB, any issues?. I hope they considered the VB, and also hope you understand what I mean.
I wish I could help Jose, but I'm not an auto guy. But IIRC the VB just bolts up with a spacer plate and gasket, nothin' too fancy. But again, I'm not an auto guy.
Its a simple install.
Be shure you remove the little filter screen. (1/4 turn to remove)
Install the plate then the screen filter. It will hold the plate up while
you install the VB.
Specs. VB= 80-100 inch lbs. Pan 10-12 foot lbs.

RD,
Thanks anyway for your input. The VB from Racer X doesnt come with the spacer plate like the BTS, so I suppose I use the original, and I have read some write ups during this time and they dont mention a gasket, only for the pan.

Thanks Bill, and as I mentioned above, there is no new plate, so I dont have to remove the filter screen, or is good idea to remove it and clean it?.
I dont know why Bill (Racer X) hasnt answer my mails
But with what you told me and I read, it seems to be a easy job: 2-3 hs maybe.
Should I change the oil filter or reuse the old one (has about 2.5K miles). I will add new oil to refill.
I did not know which VB setup you have.
You can flush the screen if you want.
Remove it to flush.
No need to change filter with 2.5K. Just beware of the oring on it.
Just refill and enjoy!!!

Yes sir, I will, and I know what you mean about the o-ring of the filter.
Run the trans for a bit to get the new feel of it.
Then install the chip. Then see what your likes/dislikes are.
Bill
Okey Dokey, but that is terrible , because I CANT WAIT for the CHIP installation and feel the AWESOME power everybody mention every time with the chip. he he he he. (you know what I mean, LOL).
UPDATE: I received the installation instruction from Racer X, he sent it last 29, but for any reason the mail went to my SPAM.
And I have to tell to RuberDuck that he was right, because Bill mention the gasket in the instructions and he said that it´s very rare for this gasket to stick & tear, so the new VB won´t requiere a new gasket unless is severly damaged.
right, i kind of figured it was the accumulator when you mentioned the screen but i wasnt sure. gets confusing sometimes when i see it advertised as a valvebody.
