New Glass, New Seals and Felts...Woohoo

I now have a new windshield (actually replaced it before the Truckstock trip), a new rear window, new side and vent windows, new window seals and felts, and new division bars for the side windows. Everything looks MUCH better and much more airtight. No more rattle, rattle everywhere. And I guess I'm now part of the club that hates those stupid little metal clips for the anti-rattle felts. I also replaced the lift channels for the side windows. I really had to "persuade" that glass, channel rubber, and the channel itself to come together with a rubber mallet. Kind of makes you nervous. The most time consuming part was disassembling the vent windows so that the new rubber seal could be installed between the outer and inner frames.

Congratulations on your success with the seals! I was dreading it and looking back it was more simple than I expected, except for installing the anti-rattle clips!

Yes it does. But not as much of a difference as that engine under the hood. Thanks again, Ray.

It's good to hear it made a noticeable difference! That's one of the things I keep putting off on my '65, and I just know once I do it I'll wonder what took me so long...

It makes a huge difference. The door feels "heavier" and more solid. I'm sure it will also make a huge difference in the winter.

That's cool!

I'm "looking forward" to this experience as well. But I have body work and paint to do first.

I'm looking for some assistance in matching up these window seals. I bought some from The old ford supply in escondido and they looked nothing like what I have.

Anyone recognize these and know where I may buy another set?

See the attached photo.

Thanks!

Doug
