Our job is "Winning the hearts and minds of the African people." We're over here building schools and hospitals so that we have another ally. We're also in a hostile area too because of all the **** going on in Somolia, I'm in Djibouti and the Somolian border is 12 miles away, in order to get to one of our dettatchment sites we have to convoy right through all that ****, full battle rattle, M16s locked cocked and ready to rock, 4" of armor on the trucks, flack jackets and kevlars and 9mms on our hips. Whoever says Seabees don't see hostile action is full of ****.
I'm sure it's missing you too. Probably feels neglected. It will be a happy reunion when you return. Thanks for serving our great country.
I know she feels neglected from her normally driving behavior, my girlfriend is driving it while I'm gone and she drives like an old grandma so I KNOW that Triton is under there goin' "COME ON!!! OPEN ME UP A LITTLE!" Lol. But I know she won't. She is happy though that she doesn't have to readjust the seat and mirrors everytime she gets in it now.
Yeah, I spent my share of time on the Dark Continent (Kenya and Tanzania right after the embassy bombings) and it sucked. Even on our humanitarian missions we were on the defensive. Hazardous fire pay paid for my truck, though. Come home safe!
