the springfield GI 45 is the closest you will ever find in a reproduction of the origonals. if i dont get the origonal GI model then i will get the springfield reproduction. i dont want all the custom bells and whistles the kimbers and s&w's and even springfield have to offer. i want the 1911 for what it was.
Their are a couple of clubs around, my brother use to be a member of the local till they disbanded when the range got shut down. They use to go to camp perry and shoot target .22 I haven't had the time the past few years to look into it let alone be a member. Getting old sucks.... LOL
The last couple I saw at a gun show were WAY over priced, esp for the condition
LOL, yeah it's a decent drive. With being busy and the price of fuel haven't made the run for a while. Usually take 322 thru State College to Harrisburg when we go to visit. Heading to Reading sometime this fall to work a a friends boiler, gonna be a expensive service call
I don't consider myself an "avid" shooter but I do get enjoyment out of going out and shooting. I have a small array of guns, none of the super fancy fun stuff like an AK though just hunting guns. One of my most recent fond memories of shooting is picking off ground hogs with a target rifle my father in law borrowed from his friend... can't remember the caliber but you could take the head off a ground hog from 200 yards with a steady trigger finger!
Rem 700 6mm, it has got better ballistics than any other deer or varmit rifle for range, velocity and knock down force. The classic Rem 700 action is one of the most accurate rifles in any caliber. Check out the M110 on youtube. It has an acurracy range around 800 yards. It is the army's new snipper rifle.
IT'S BAD!!!!! Gotta get one!
