Can I do this?
Well my dad has a F250 Custom with a 460 which he just blew the tranny today! Since it was a beater and a stress reliever he never really did much to her. The engine is still good but I'm not sure what tranny is in the truck.
So the question is, can I replace my 302 with a 460?

I doubt he will fix it lol The most money he puts in that truck is gas! well do you think its possible for a project next year? Or to many problems I'll run into

Very do able project but you will need the right motor mounts,a trans with a big block bell housing, and your transfer case should work fine also. I beleive but you can never count on all the little things u find also. That is a project i want to do in a few years or sooner depending on the lifetime of my 302. i have a C6 and 205 case already in the garage waiting

I thought the E4OD was behind the 460, but the bell housing for the small block and big block engines is different.
Now an old AOD, a 460 would eat that up...but I think the E4OD with a BB bell housing is the correct trans for the application.
