1997 f150

Will a 2003 3.8 mustang engine work in a 1997 f150 that has a 4.2 in it now and if so what kind of changes would I have to make.

Are you serious. Why would you want to put an under powered engine in for an already under powered engine in a F150.

That is the problem with that motor......the 4.2 is guttless.

put a 4.6 of 5.4 in the truck....you would be much happier!!!

I would have to agree no offense to you but it would be hard to swap in a motor from a Ford car much easier to go with the 4.6 or 5.4
