What are you suggesting ? That people who question you should be silenced? I am sorry you were offended. You shouldn't be so sensitive to criticism.

I am even more sorry you missed what I thought was my main point - which is the urgency of encouraging "defensive driving". As others have noted, Ford isn't the only big SUV whose roofs collapse in roll-overs.

I could well be wrong about Ford as to roll-over issues. Perhaps all big heavy SUV's are subject to roof collapse? To the extent our much heavier EX's are?

I dont know what the statistics are- I was relying on some photos & articles I saw in here some months ago which seemed to me to be convincing. If in fact Ford SUV's are no more subject to roof collapse, then all the more reason to think in terms of defensive driving no matter what you drive (since many of us drive other types of vehicles in addition to our EX's.

It is my understanding that our EX's are 1,500 lbs. OR MORE than the typical Suburban 2500 series, and that vehicle is heavier than most other SUV's. If that is correct, then the additional weight of the EX would suggest to me they need heavier roof structure roll-over protection than SUV's with less mass.

The "roll center" of the typical "stock" SUV is higher than most other vehicles in the passenger car class. Notice I said "stock". Many of the people in here have felt the need to increase the height of the vehicle, so that means the roll-center is even higher. If I failed to emphasize what I am concerned about, and made it seem like I was picking on you excessively, I apologize.

Drive scared! Maybe that sounds paranoid - maybe it is. Ask any motorcycle driver how important that is. Are we safer in SOME respect than when on motorcycles? Of course ! Bottom line is, dosn't matter if you, I or any of our fellow chatters is right or wrong as to whether Ford SUV's are any more susceptible to roof collapse than any competitor's. Remember, just because I am paranoid (about driving safety) dosnt mean they arent out to "get" me...!

Once again 6686L you read your own thoughts into another's posts. The intent/tone/message of Paul T's post didn't warrant your childish attack on him.

Plus the extra weight up top will raise the center of gravity making it actually tip over easier.

The guy that priced this thing must be smoking from the same crack pipe as the one who rolled it.

Here are some vehicles that I was expecting to perform much better than whats seen in these pictures.

2005 Honda Pilot

Another 2005 Honda Pilot

The driver must of worked very hard to manage to do this to an XC90.
2007 Volvo XC90
