New Trucks
Now that gas is over $3.50, these loaded trucks aren't selling much anymore.
It seems that the trend is to just buy what's on the lot. So the dealers order the most profitable trucks to have ready for sale. Well, now nobody want's them and they are stuck with them.
If more people actually ordered trucks with the options that they want( of the available options ) then there would be less of these $45K sitting idle on dealer lots. Now with another big hurricane hitting the gulf, they are saying gas could go up to $5 a gallon buy the end of the year if the refineries are damaged!! This will make it even harder to get rid of the 08's.
As for the type of threads in this section, I just do what I am told. Don't shoot the messenger

Who would have ever thought of a *Lincoln* pickup, for instance? Talk about being built to impress someone. And I do agree that some folks like Ryan might have a legit use for a more decked out truck, just as attorneys need fancy offices to impress their clients. But this is going to be a small minority of truck *users* as opposed to truck *wearers*.
Of course, the fully loaded trucks were the BIG cash cows for Ford--which is why they "suggested" that dealers order more of these, and the loss of these profits is gonna hurt. But the dealers are gonna dig in and order only what they can sell, or Ford is gonna have to rebate back any excess profits anyway.
