I'm putting some thumper heads, a cam, maf, and gt40 intake in my 91'. The lower will be port matched to the heads.
The throttle body is 65mm, and the intake opening is 70mm, would there be any gain in port matching them.
I was thinking that if the air goes from that smaller volume tube to a larger volume opening that it might cause a loss in velocity, And a lil turbulence which would cause the air to flow even worse. Would I be right in that assumption, as far a physics go anyways?
Matching it wouldn't hurt, but I can't see that it would help all that much either. A little turbulence but not enough to affect flow. There a long way for air to go from the tb to the intake valve...
I'm sure simply buying a 70mm would probably be easier.
I basically just wanted to know if my theory was correct, I was doubting that it would really affect the efficiency of the engine. Thanks for the info.
