I've got an 86 Ranger extended cab that's got a 302 H.O. out of an 87 mustang in it. not real sure of what all it takes to make the swap, as I bought the truck this way, but I would reccomend leaving the EFI on the engine & transplanting the computer into the truck. either that, or get an engine that was carbureted originally. this thing was messed up when I got it, and trying to buy parts for it has been interesting to say the least. when I ask for parts for the 87 mustang engine, they keep handing me parts that are for EFI, with all the electronic components and connections. then we have to sit there and go through the various parts that are available until we find something that will work. BIG pain in the neck. if you start with a carbureted engine then at least it'll make the parts buying part of the swap and upkeep on it less of a headache.
