I was in an accident two weeks ago and my 1988 F-150 wat totalled. I have been stripping parts off of it because I bought a nice 1989 F-150 and, I got to looking for the fuel tank selector valve and there is none. There is a non electric canister on the frome rail with 6 ports on it. Does anyone know how this thing works? I figure it works on differential pressure depending on witch pump is running, is this true? Anyway, I was rear ended and drove into the oncomming traffic when I was waiting to turn left. The oncoming traffic was doing at least 60 MPH. Four cars totalled in all. We were lucky we walked away from it with just bruises and there were no fatalaties. The truck had no rust or dents, there is no straight sheet metal left on it.
The wheels are now on my newer truck. I lucked out and found an 89 with no rust or dents and 77,000 original documented miles from it's original owner. The guy spent winters in Virginia and the truck was kept in a garage up here in Michigan's Upper Peninsula in the winter months. It has a 5.0 engine, AOD, long box. It has manual windows & locks as my other one was all power with tilt wheel and all. The one that was wrecked had 93,000 original miles and I owned it for eight years.
