6.0L engine build date sticker
Can someone help me to understand the build date on my '04 6.0L Powerstroke?
Here is what I see. On the drivers side inside door pile the sticker clearly says that the truck was built in Dec. '03.
I seen somewhere on the internet, in more than two places, that the International engine build date is on the FICM. Mine clearly states, on the FICM, that the engine was built in Dec. '03. My good freind and a mechanic that I know, along with several internet sites, say that the engine build date is also on the passenger side valve cover.
On my passenger side valve cover I see a sticker, white with black lettering and bar code. From the top down it reads:
(big bar code), then in 1/8" high letters it has a long number with some letters, then in big 1/2" high letters is a number "0410" along with some more numbers and a letter or two.
Am I seeing this right? The engine was built in Oct. '04. Could this have been due to an engine replacement? This truck was not purchased from the dealer until Dec. '04.
