Built tranmissions??
Hey guys I have a friend who fried his trans in his 6.0 this weekend. So he is looking for a built trans but I am completely unfamiliar with them. What are your recommendations? He is a young whipper snapper of 17 or so and it pretty rough on the truck but all it has is a tuner. Edge I think. So lets hear some recommendations

Suncoast builds the best 5r110 currently in the aftermarket, but they won't warranty it if he's running the edge box. Brians Truck Shop in northern Arkansas is MUCH closer to you and produces a VERY VERY stout 5R110, but I don't know if he's still doing them. Tell your friend to ditch the edge and get a custom tuned SCT or Phlanx tuner. Much much better for the transmission, and he'll be more than impressed with the engine performance over the edge.

Yeah we called BTS this morning. He still does them. I will give him the info on the tuner. I have told him there are better choices then Edge, maybe he will listen now.

That's good to know. Brian builds one helluva 5R110. That's who will be doing my next one in all likely hood. Not that suncoast is bad....I'm running one now. Just that BTS will be really close to home.
