I have a 79 Bronco that I'm having problems with the recharging system. I'm a newbie to self-automobile repair, so please bear with me.
When I purchased the Bronco the alternator had 2 wires attached to it. I noticed there is a 3rd wire hanging nearby, but not attached. I looked up some diagrams and have been trying to put 2 and 2 together, but I'm not sure I have the wires right. Regardles, my Bronco isn't recharging the battery. How do I know which wires go where?
I've replaced the alternator, regulator and battery by myself, so the parts are new and SHOULD be working... I'm guessing I don't have it wired right. Any help would be appreciated. Please feel free to email me at mrmalupo(No Email Addresses In Posts!)
Thanks for the help, Franklin2. I looked over the articles that you pointed out to me and have set up the wiring. Unfortunately I have found that the engine is leaking a ton of oil and will have to take it back to the shop. Since they just redid the engine it is covered, thank goodness
Anyway, thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
