Please explain how a molded bedliner, that is bolted into the frame by the tie-downs as well as other points, flies out of a truck bed and onto the roadway....................
I've seen them by the road on I-55 here in Jackson.
The only thing I can think is that plastic must crack around the points it connects. Plastic does degrade over time.
Also, It may be the thin, cheap, Chinese made crap thats giving loose.
I would guess they were either improperly bolted down or not bolted down at all. I have literally had them come out of the truck in front of me. I was not trying to suggest that anyone here is that careless. Sorry for making a joke, from something I have seen more than once.
I had Speedliner sprayed on mine at the dealer as part of the deal when I bought mine. They did an excellent job and it looks very nice. One less thing to worry about now, well worth it in the long run.
I've seen over the rail liners in older trucks come out before....but newer ones all bolt in with the tie downs.....as for the spray in liners...they don't protect your bed against dents...a drop in will. i've had drop in liners in all three of my trucks and neither of the last two wore down the paint 05 and 07, both had over 30000 miles on them when I checked under the liners last. The 95 that didn't bolt in did wear down the paint a bit, but there was NO rust and it had a drop in liner for 180,000 miles....
I ahd a drop in liner in my last f150 I had, 2000 and in the first year it had rubbed through my paint and started to rust. I now will only get Line-X, as far as dent I havent had a bed get dented with the line-x yet I do cary some heavy items. I.e tool boxes. And it will protect your bed walls where a rubber bed mat won't.
I have a drop-in (it was already installed when I bought the truck). My big problem with it is that when hauling mulch or lawn debris, stuff works its way under the edges of the liner, and acts like sandpaper. I had a terrible time getting all of the mulch out from under the tailgate liner, and couldn't get it all out from under the bedliner. As soon as I can afford it, I'll be pulling this liner out and getting a Linex liner...
Those two that flew out were probably over the rail style liners that some lazy D...A..
threw in the back of his truck WITHOUT fastening it down with the installation kit. Kinda
makes you wonder where they got their drivers license huh. Dan.
