kickdown extention

i put a 2 torque swirl spacer on my 302 w/600cfm holley on it, its been forever since i changed to 4bb, and my dad keeps bugging me about the kickdown rod! (he drives my truck some days) since i put the spacer on, the kickdown lever is too small (go figure) and was wondering if if you extend it, any binding problems will occur. i'm gonna upgrade to a lokar cable, but not now, no money to spend at the moment. will the 351W kickdown be long enough?

I have a Torque Swirl 1" spacer on my 460 with an Edelbrock Performer manifold & a 4160 Holley & the kick down fit OK. You can straighten out the rod a little if you need to.

never had to do this on my truck, but did on my c4 in my mustang. you just have to cut it and section a piece in a spot where it wont bind with anything. its nothing more than some quick looking and measuring. you most definitely want to do this asap because it screwed my first tranny up not downshifting, and the shop that rebuilt it wouldnt warranty it without the rod in place. i just had to weld in a piece about 2-3 inches long an it works great with no binding or anything so go out there and get it done!
