a few questions

I am current serving in the Army and I have been stationed in Cuba for the last 2 years. With that, my truck is not here with me. I have a 2003 F250 Lariat with the 7.3 under the hood. I have been away from my truck for so long that I don't even know what size the stock wheels are. I will be back to the states in November and I want to buy new wheels and tires when I get back. I would like to get 18 inch wheels. Will these fit with no lift kit? If not, will they fit with a leveling kit? I would like to keep tire size no larger than 33's. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Lift doesn't really matter when looking at wheels. The tire size will matter, but 33"s should be fine stock and 35"s with a leveling kit. Basically you could get 30" wheels and 33" tires (if they actually made them) and they would fit without a lift.

18 isn't such a common truck size. I would go either 16" or 20", more trucks are coming factory with those sizes, so the tire manufactures should offer more range for those.

I'll bet you are looking forward to getting home.

The point about the wheels is, that the diameter has little to do with clearance. You can get put small diameter tires on big diameter wheels so of course they would clear. But, you need to consider how tall and wide a tire you want, whether it will clear, and then get a wheel width that properly fits that tire.

If you get 20" wheels that are too narrow, you won't want to put too wide of a tire on them. You can have handling and wear issues. So instead of thinking about wheels first, think about tires first.

This is not correct, 18s are a very common wheel size now. Pretty much any tire that is available in a 20 is available in an 18. Also, tires for 18s are significantly cheaper than those for 20s. Another thing to consider is if you ever go offroad. I'll never go larger than 18s because I need the extra sidewall when offroading, for this reason I'll keep my 16s for a while longer.

I guess it depends on what you consider common. But it's pretty clear when you go shopping for tires that the selection gets thinner at 17" and larger. It's getting better as time goes along.

My truck is my daily driver. I will never take it offroad if I don't have to. If I do decide to go offroad it will be in my other ride which is also waiting for me when I get back. Here she is:

I'm just looking for an all terrain tire that is well mannered on the highway at fast speeds. I tend to be kind of heavy on the skinny pedal sometimes. any suggestions fo tires?

Goodyear Silent Armour.
The ride is great and quiet they hook up better than the Firestones it came with or BFG'S I put on her. If off road is just getting to the fishing hole or off the road to the Job site these tires are good and strong. Also snow rated
I read goodyear has a 30 day money back if you don,t like um guarantee.
The new line is Silent Armour Pro grade. My next set for sure

For a good AT tire, my Toyo ATs have been excellent.

Just so you know where you're starting at, you're truck comes with 16x7 wheels. The standard size is a 235 tire but you can option for a 265/75-16 tire on the stock wheel. I've got the 265's and there's plenty of room left over at stock height (which makes it a 31.6" tire).

Thanks Senior Chief! So here is what I am looking at as far as wheel and tires go. These wheels:

with these tires:

Do you guys think these will fit without a lift? If not, how about a 2.5" leveling kit? Also, does anyone have teflon coated wheels? Any feeback on them?

They should pretty easily fit. A 2.5" Leveling will clear 35" tires.

I am not sold on teflon, there are a lot of myths about it and a simple coat of wax will do just as much. If its the same price, try it, but I wouldn't spend extra on it.

Yes,
I'm currently running 18" American Racing 'Mojave' w/ 37"x13.5" Pro Comp Xtreme AT's (D rated) w/ a back-up set of MT MTZ's @ 38"x15.5"x18". Teflon wheels are great! Wash your truck and don't worry about getting out the wheel polish.
It took a couple of days to get used to the black wheels coming from the 'Bling' that was on it before; 16.5"x12" MT Classic II w/ MT Baja Belted @ 36"x 14.5"x16.5" or even the 16"x8" Center Line Slots in Billet Aluminum w/ 38" TSL's.
They're all a great combination for what I do. I can change the look of the truck like changing a shirt!!

Sounds like you might want to try the Pro Comp Xtreme AT's. I was shocked @ how quiet they are. A nice smooth quiet ride to pull your Xtreme Crawler for the weekend.
Your jeep is rocking!
Great job on the build!

I'm going to have a beer in your honor for serving this country!!!
Thank you & Good Luck!
