Ford almost always badged optional engines in their cars and medium duty trucks but until recently didn't mark their pickups other than the V8 emblems of the 50's.
I got a little too close with the buffer and had to replace the previous set with some new ones and thought I'd share the result.
Had Ford chose to mark their trucks, like they did the 5.0 Mustang of the era, I imagine it would have looked like this.
Here's a closer view
I got mine from Perogie Enterprises in NJ. I just gave Steve a call, he checked stock, I chose the "red dot" and a couple days later I had them! Emblems And Decals
ive been thinking about doing that with my truck with either the 5.0 badge or the 302 high performance badge leanin towards the 302 badge http://npd.dirxion.com/Main.asp

I love how they offer 4.6 and 5.4 badges when those weren't in those body style trucks...oh and nflfreak,i'd go with the 302 hi-po's..they'll match the f150 emblems...
well mine is an f100 if you hadnt forgot but yeh the they really didnt start calling the 5.0's till about 85 from what my dad told me and the 302 is just more era correct but im still not sure i would like to keep it having that all original look
i forgot to give my constructive critism Uncle Stosh is right the 5 in 7.5 should be under the 0 in f250 to match the curves of the wheel well and door

meh f100 f150 virtually the same thing to me anyways.and 2 extra emblems shouldn't really hurt the all original look.

I am not too sure about trucks, but I do know that the "5.0" emblem was on the body of the 1982 Ford Mustang, and "5.0 Liter H.O." was written on the air cleaner.
Did Ford disignate the 5.0 ONLY for the Mustang, and "302" for their trucks?
Well, according to FoMoCo, a 5.0 is a 302. Just about everybody knows that.
What I was saying was that as far back as 1982 (maybe even in '79) the Ford Mustang began identifying its standard 302 as the metric "5.0." But Ford did not officially use that callout on the pickup until 1987, on the upper intake.
it just so happens I can get 351 Cleveland emblems for my '79 ............ I already have chrome valve covers with the number 351 on each one stamped in, not just written on ...........gonna get some for the air cleaner too (351 Cleveland sticker for the chrome air cleaner will look nice, yeah?)
