This one doesn't make sense to me, 460 stroker would indicate(to me anyhow) that the motor was equipped with a stroker kit there by increasing the displacement no longer making it a 460.
I believe american auto manufacturers only started using the liter displacement because the forgein guys were doing it. I personally prefer the cubic inch displacement as it just sounds better, but bigger numbers usually do.
I'd looked at this for a long time before I found the emblems I wanted. I've owned this truck since '96 and it really bugged me that there was no engine badging. When I finally found the emblems and did the placement I had spent a lot of time looking at where Ford placed the 5.0 emblem on the Mustangs ... consistantly near the top of the wheel opening ... and I think this is where Ford might have put it had they badged the trucks.
The above photo is the old emblems. Before I put the new ones on I put some magnet material on the back of one of the old emblems, moved it around a little, took digital pictures and looked at them also. On MY truck this is where the emblem wanted to be although I have to say I could have done the locate like 86F150302, I like that too, but I wanted the 7.5 to stand on it's own a little more and not be so much a part of the model badging.
And now to address the critics:
It's too new-ish and it's not lined up right with the other emblems.
Ford started using the identical 'format' on the Mustang a couple years earlier. Are you saying that the cars and the trucks run on a different time frame? As far as alignment, the dot between the 7 and the 5 is centered on the space below the 2 and the 5 on the new emblems shown in the closeup, I know, I used a square.
Sorry, but I'm not digging it. It doesn't look right.
And I'm not into funny faces ....
True, but if he likes them, that's all that really matters.
Thank you fordtruckman80 and nflfreak43! When I did this I had two votes in favor (my wife and my self) and that means that I win!
Too often the critics can't do any better but it takes little effort on their part.

The "Stroker" badge did ot ake any sense to me either, I just showed it for the color options. There is another company that makes custom "X.X" L displacement badges in metal and decal form.
Another option, I guess would to place the engine callout on the fender at the front wheel / side marker light area.
PS. Just for the record, I like Clydes truck / emblem
Agreed on the 'Stroker' thing. When I first saw that I scratched my head a little also. Perogie says on their home page that they specialize in Mustang, Torino and other older Ford performance and special interest cars. I just thought their emblems were a great thing to have available. I bet those custom metal X.XL emblems fetch a buck or two to take home!
Earlier someone mentioned that 4.6 and 5.4 weren't used in the older trucks but they're a pretty hot item with the Mustang crowd.
The earliest mention and badging of a metric/liter engine displacement that I'm aware of on American iron was back with the introduction of the '7-Liter' emblem on the front fender of 66 Galaxies with the 427 cid engine. We all kind of wondered exactly what that meant at the time but with time it did become common place. Yeah cubic inches are more exacting but liters to the third decimal place might be a little bulky. 460 cc = 7.538049 liter, but then 460 is an approximation also .....
I was checking them out on ebay before I sold Barney, but now that I might be getting it back I want to get the 460 high performance badges and put a scoop on and put them on the sides of the scoop.I think it would look good to show that there is a little muscle under the hood.

Reason: spelling
As long as you like it, that's all that matters. I just happen to be a purist when it comes to old vehicles. If it was not available as an option on the model year(s), then it shouldn't be there.

Yea,but they are listed in the 80-96 F-Series catalog, and those trucks never came with those motors. If a stang guy wants them, then they should be looking in the stang catalog lol.
IF Ford had badged their truck engines they emblems might have looked like what I posted earlier. I know some people think we should leave the old trucks as stock as possible and others like to change everything. I like the stock appearance but I guess if I find something that I think would have, could have or SHOULD have been there during that time period and I like it I like to add it, still maintaining the flavor of the original. Right now I'm working with Uncle Stosh to install a set of floor vents that will be dead stock but not offered with AC. Maybe they should have been.
Anyway I had a 7.5 emblem left over.
Still in the "trying it out" stage .... love the digital camera, it lets me look at lots of possibles side by side ... but of all the shots I did with the grille logo in different locations this is the one I like best. I think it fits ......

IMO,I think you need to throw that extra 7.5 badge on the tailgate where the lariat emblems were...like right on the passenger side top corner...being in the grille right there doesn't look right to me..but once again, your truck not mine...
