Tried it, didn't like it. Put a magnetic backing on one of the old ones I replaced.
I can send you a photo if you'd like to see what it looked like.
Ford did put emblems in the grills of the F600-700-800's.
I think I would move it over to the driver side of the grill. When ford started badging the filler panel on the 87-91 trucks it was on the driver side. I know they only used the "EFI" and "4X4" and sometimes "4X2" badges, I think it would just make it appear to be more factory oriented.

We'll give that a go and post it. IIRC that was on the metal below the headlight, not in the grill though. I was more thinking of the big F-series.
Yes clydesdale, they did that on F600's and up,but your truck is a 250,without the huge 2 foot grille,so it makes it look funny...awhile back I replaced the window and vent glass in a 1989 F600 and it had a 429,but just had the 4v badge on it...i'd follow what sycostang said and try it on the driver's side...it would look better...
I also think it'd look better on the driver's side, and I guess that's mostly
cuz that's where Chebby used to put the 350 insignia and it just looks
more "normal" to me being there. Just my opinion.
I hate to see Chevrolet styling enter into this but ..... I remember the fender badging but not the grill.
That looks really good like that dude.......
one thing I thought of that doesn't really matter, whenever your going down the road, people aren't really gonna notice it on the passenger side. They're more prone to be looking at the driver's side...I think it will catch more eyes on the driver's side...

I was wandering around my fav local junkyard last Sat and saw a 350 emblem on a
Chevy grille, it immediately made me think of you and your endeavors. I'll see if I can
take a pic next Sat and post it here (if I can find it again).
I agree with Fordtruckman80 for the reason he stated...and I also think that looks really good on the DRIVER'S side like that. How did you get that emblem to stand up in the grille?
If anything I'd remove the XLT badge and use a slightly shorter 7.5 (actually, I'd use a 460 badge) shoved up into the hole. It'd flow better, and badging is all about flow.
IF Ford had done the designations it would have been a CID plaque similar to the rectangular 460 emblem shown in a post on the first page. They would have been applied to the FRONT of the fenders in about the same spot as the Triton V8 stickers of the late 90s to present. Ford DID at one time badge the light duty trucks. I believe it was in the late 60s to mid 70s (seem to remember 460 emblems on our '77 F350).
Out of curiosity, whats up with the extra marker lights on your fenders?
Back in the late 60's Ford installed corner marker lights on the front fenders of their camper special trucks. I added these on Clyde and tied them to the turn signals for changing lanes when towing the camper. The early trucks used an armored marker light that I thought was just too heavy and clunky. IIRC they only turned on with the parking lights.
Just found this picture on another site Classic 1969 Ford F-250 Pickup for sale in Homosassa, Florida of a 1969 F250 with the camper pkg as evidenced by the mirrors, the front fender light and the logo. And what's this I see behind the front fender!! It looks like a "390" badge right next to the "Camper Special" script.

Hmmm. It seems when Ford DID do the emblems they often used the same engine badging they used on the cars of the time, and they placed that badging behind the front wheels ... also as they did on some of the cars of that period. SHOCKING!

I think you are right on this. The FRONT of the fenders is where they would have probably been placed. I used to have a little 1986 Ford Bronco II that a "V6" emblem at the very front of the front fender, right in front of the side marker light.
