Just got a few weeks ago a 05 F350 KR crewcab with the power window slider in the back, which works fine but it's super slow compared to the 05 F150 that we had .
Could anybody run some tests and tell me how long it takes for them to open it or closed? (i guess the times should be roughly the same)
Just afraid that there might be something wrong and that it eventually break on a rainy day or during a snowboarding trip...
You might try checking the seals for dirt and such. The reason I mention this is that while looking at rigs before my purchase, I saw a couple power rear sliders had pulled the attaching(to the motors cable or actuator strip)frame right off the glass panel. Sounds like a great option though. Maybe ice or really cold weather operation is what I was seeing the result of. Your mention of snowboarding would seem to be expectant of cold weather use, so be somewhat aware of the units restrictions(warm up the rig first maybe). Best of luck.
My 05 crew cab sometimes will open fine and others will be very slow .Sometimes it will only open about three inches and stop .I let off switch and try again and it will go another couple inches. Then maybe the next day or so it will work fine again. I think it may be the rubber around the glass binding some way. Mine seems to open better when the glass is clean. Maybe rain-ex or glass wax would free it up a little. never tried, just a thought.
mine has debonded, it gets caught up when trying to open. they do open on the slow side . $1100 repair to replace in canada. waiting for quote for re bonding repair.
Clean the window with windex and ensure the base it slides is nice and clean then apply a light coating of wax to the bottom and top edge so it slides better. Dust and dirt causes friction between window and the slide.
Same thing used to happen to my slider when it was new to me. Someone on here recommended spraying a little silicone lub in the track to help unbind it. I tried it and it made a huge difference, alot faster and doesn't get stuck anymore. I'd try that out first.
