I was thinking about stage 1 's and a TW chip and just wondering what kind of fuel milage everyone is getting with stage 1's when they are daily driving and when pulling light loads?
i would assume with stage 1's your econmomy will remain the same assuming you drive the same. they have the same size nozzle. the only difference is they have the ability to flow more fuel, they dont have to.
I have stage II's and if I drive normally and when not towing I get 18-19 mpg, I was getting 16-17 mpg with the stock injectors before changing to II's.
---what he said!!! that makes me rethink my injector upgrade choice, if you can pull down those kind of mpg #s then IIs are still a viable option!
I did say drive "Normal". Which menas S---L---O---W. Easy starts, shift with the rpm's under 2000, and drive 55 (60 max) mph.
On the other hand.....If I drive like I want to I get about 14-15 mpg.....and if I'm having fun (rolling the smoke so thick it blocks out the sun and bury the speedo) I get about oh maybe 8 mpg and watch the fuel gauge go down each time I stomp on the throttle.
II's flow the same amount as I's, (160 cc) the only difference is that they have a custom nozzle that will deliver the fuel faster, giving you more low end power quicker. So if you can keep your foot out of it, they still get decent mileage, and when you need it they will give lots of power for pulling heavy loads. So when I did my upgrade I talked to Bean and told them what I wanted and needed from my truck (pulling heavy trailers, farm & highway driving) he advised me to go with the II's.
I average around 16 or so empty. Running around town, 70 on the freeway, occasionally testing my guages, etc. Do it, you'll absolutely love it. I've tried several times to drive in my stock setting to see if I could do better in terms of mileage, but sooner or later I "need" to turn it back up.
