I have my 2006 Kawasaki Ninja 250 listed on craigslist. A guy is interested in a straight-up trade. He has an 03 Yamaha YZ250 dirt bike. They seem to book pretty close on NADA. I could use a dirt bike to run the desert, where the Ninja won't get much use since I got my Suzuki SV650S. The Yamaha was bought new by the guy wanting to trade he has a dealer report of sale, but not titled.
I need some input. Is this worth thinking about? What should I look for if I do this? Just your opinions GOOD BAD ETC.
Criaig, If it is a 2 stroke bike I would not trade, I have had lots of 2 stroke bikes and they are not at all like a 4 stroke. + that oil gas thing....hassel! look for a 4 stroke bike IMO.
Keep it four stroke. Two strokes are twice as much maintenance. Mixing gas and oil. With a four stroke, load it up, gas up and ride. just my .02 Good luck
Yea it is a 4 stroke that was one of my first questions. I have emailed him telling him if he was serious he has until tomorrow to email me or it is going on EBAY. Craigslist is OK but too many non serious people. I've had people wanting to make payments to wanting to trade a TV. I had one guy offer me $1800 CASH I emailed him back I'd take it. & never heard another word. At EBAY with bidding people are a little more real. They have there problems also.
Craigslist is great. It's popular, it's free, and you can find a local buyer.
A lot of people are hurting financially. I wouldn't rule out payments as long as everything is on paper and you can keep the bike and the title until it's paid for.
