Anyone have a suggestion for a place to get a new windshield? I was thinking of asking my insurance agent for suggestions (I'll probably be paying for it ... old damage), but also thought I'd ask here.
A few years back i was in the same situation, asked my agent and the company they had do the work was awful!
So the next day I called!... they told me we will get this "other" company out to fix the problem, They sent the company out that did the installation in the first place!
Fun day that was, that poor lady at the insurance co sure got an ear full!!!
My experience with Safelite is AWFUL. I carry full glass coverage and I'm completely **** about replacing it every year. I now request Ford OEM glass everytime. No deductible
I just check with a few shops & talk with them. The best price isn't always the best deal. I had a company in Kingman put a new windshield in my 86 F250. They weren't the cheapest but fair. They were professional. It turned out when they took out the old one that the company that installed it which were the cheapest, had put the clips for the chrome on backwards. That is why the chrome never fit quite right.

A good friend of mine is an installer for safelite, so I have never had any problems, I did get a distorted windshield once and called him to ask about it and he ordered a replacement windshield and replaced it the next day
Oh I had a feeling it wouldn't be easy to choose. Thank you everyone for the replies. I have to wait for the paycheck to deposit, then I can start looking.
What I don't understand is.......why don't you guys carry FULL glass coverage??????!!!!!! There's only a few states left that offer it! ZERO deductible

I have full glass, but I don't think AllState will pay for this. The few chips are old, and I don't mind them. The crack that used to be 2" long is now across 85% of the windshield.
I suppose I can always ask. Worst they'll say is no, right?
