In dash DVD Question

The head unit has a wire that you are to hook up to the brake line so that you can only watch DVDs when the parking brake is on. Anyone know of a way to "trick" it into think the brake is on or disable this feature? Thanks for the help! 2008 F250 FYI.

Just read in the post below that grounding it may work. There is a sequence that must be followed...ie, brake on, brake off, brake on in order to watch video, so I would imagine the unit needs to get current, no current, current back on in order to show video. I'll try just grounding it and see...if not, may have to rig up a switch to provide current and follow the sequence to "trick" the unit into thinking the brake is on.

Any thoughts?

Sorry about that...new to all this stuff. Its a cheap a** Jensen unit...not sure of the part number. Just one stupid pink wire that it says should be hooked up to the brake line. Haven't had a chance to try the "grounding" trick. Might get to it this week end. But I do appreciate the smart a** comments.

We're just have'n fun. You are correct in just simply grounding the brake wire. I seem to remember that there was even a program option to simply turn the video on even without grounding the wire but I can't remember if that was Jensen or a Valor Multimedia radio.

I know...I'm a bit of a smart a** myself. I think its fun to poke at people on here. I've participated in forums like this for years and think its funny! The guys on the VW forum are the worst though. They can't take a joke and get really pissy. The GTO forum guys are cool and since I bought my F250 I have enjoyed this forum.

Thanks for the input and I'll let everyone know what works. Just incase there are any other cheap a**es out there that buy a Jensen unit.
