How did you do the swap, engine mounts, what would I need to do for it to fit my 79 f-350 dually? What year engine do I need for the simple swap?
Thanks Rory
I used a '89 Dodge for my donor. I used the dodge motor mounts, and built my own purches.
I assume your truck is two wheel drive. I have not looked nor do I know, but I have read that there is steering and oil pan issues with the two wheel drive trucks when using the "Dodge" oil pan. The 6bt Cummins is used in a bunch of trucks, busses and equipment, so I'm sure you can find a pan that will fit with no problems.
I've said this many times, but buy a donor truck if you can find one, not just the engine. I saved thousands on all of the small parts that would have gone to the wrecker if I had just pulled the engine. The best part of my deal was the new NV4500 transmission that was worth more than I paid for the whole truck.
