Im getting ready to measure up and make some rock sliders for my supercab. A rock slider is like a nerf bar or side step but it's more a function of max protection from hard hits with the ability to slide off stumps and rocks that come up and hit the bottom of the tub.
I'm thinking 2x6" 3/16 tubing mounted off the frame and keeping the 2x6 flat up against the bottom of the tub. The body bulges out from the bottom and was wondering how often this part gets hit. I could just bolt some 3"x3" angle iron to the bottom of the body to only protect the bottom but would cut down on weight. Just wondering what you have seen that you like and how often that bulge a few inches up from the bottom gets mashed. How would you make them?
