For my 85 ranger. i bought a Cherry bomb from auto zone.. pretty cheap, youll save money if you go to an exaust shop and buy it though. Thrush is a good brand too, but cherry bombs are as he said "old school"
hehe i know im just playin, its a 69 F-8000 with a 636 cu " CAT 1160 diesel. Straight 3" to 3 1/2" Stacks. She sounds perty. Also gets rid of the problem of annoying passengers, cuz they either dont want to ride with you, or you just flat out cant hear em.

Oh now that's just cheating Sound's like a fun toy though.
I have a lot more experience with Harley exhaust vs. truck exhasut, but my two cents: The larger diameter pipe, the lower the sound. I like a nice deep rumble myself, and my 2 /34 inch S&S pipes on the Wideglide make it sound like a camed up big block that shakes the garage when I fire it up, but it still cracks when you roll on it. I think the bigger = lower equation would work on your truck too.
at a stop light dad always has his windows rolled down and some rice burner pulls up with his music loud and won't turn it down. he starts revving it higher and higher until they turn their music down.........that's in a 82 Pete with a 400 Cummins, though........usually they turn their music down.
