Yes Ken , Katrina was the monster from 3 years ago, almost to the date, it was on Aug 29, 2005, I am way up in Kentwood 90 miles from New Orleans, I got some damage, mainly from wind and trees down on the top of my Cabana and in my pool, but I didn't see anything like those poor guys down south, it will be several more years before they will recover, and some probably never will rebuild.

Tropical Storm GUSTAV

Problem is that this thing is gonna' have a whole bunch of warm water to strengthen in before it gets up into the northern Gulf.

I live about 180 miles from the coast & when both Camile & Katrina passed by their winds were still over 100 mph. Camile's left eye wall was about 2 miles east, Katrina's went straight over.

I am not looking forward to a repeat.

 

I work by shelby farms and i live in raleigh/bartlett area. I dont make it down to MS very often but you guys at least have a forum with new posts. The TN chapter is pretty dead most of the time.

 

It looks as if we are in line for a direct hit, unless that thing decides to change and veer off the projected course, I sure hope something happens to change it.

 

hope all the disaster responders are standing by this time!! i remember in katrina they had like 1000 buses that would help move folks but nobody moved um....

 

Hopefully all you guys will get is a little rain and some wind. Hopefully no major damage. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you.

 

Yeah it's not looking good for the gulf coast, I hear hotels are already being booked way up here in Jackson and further north. Hope you guys on the coast will be making arrangments to leave...if you haven't already.
I had a tree on my house from Katrina 3 years ago. Nothing major though like other people, we considered ourselves lucky.
