well after months of research and asking questions here and other places I'm finally convinced that rebuilding my 7.3 is both expensive and a gamble...so I'm going to hunt down a 6.9 block to rebuild. My goal is an engine that will closely resemble Dave Sponaugle's ( thank god my boss pays the fuel bill!!! hehe) but with a little less boost ...15+lbs ( just wana get my feet wet, lol)
I have a real good idea what I want to do and how to do it but cant find too much info on head stud torque... I have the stock head bolt specs and sequence but wonder if there is more that can or should be done with a stud kit? When running a stud kit do you up the torque? should you?
quote by Dave Sponaugle:
"Head studs to 7.3 turbo torque specs, installed at least five times to torque in steps and then removed before the final install to torque spec."
this is interesting...I guess you do that with out the gaskets on...is that correct?
