James, congrats on getting you pan in! What a relief, right?

I also got my pan in tonight. I'm finally bolting things back on instead of taking things off.

Quicklook and James, thanks for all the tips, it certainly helped me!

Bob

Always feels good to accomplish these projects on our trucks..

I unbolted the mounts, and when i started lifting the engine up there were in two pieces. But now that i know how to jack my engine up it should be an easy replacement.

Well, now i got some bad news. I didn't install the oil pumps intermediate driveshaft properly. So now i gotta take the oil pan and oil pump back off in order to install the shaft correctly. It's gonna be a long day!

I tried that, it was kinda wedged where i couldn't pull it out. But i just dropped the pan enough to get at it. I had to loosen up the oil pump to get it out, but i got r' done. Everything is all back together. But i split the new oil, wifes out getting some more for me.

I'll figure out if I did it right this time in bout the next 30 min.

Welp she's running and i got good oil pressure. New motor mounts, and all the new gaskets fixed my exhaust leaks so it's quieter in the cab now.

Took the family and dog out to the pond on a test drive. Now she's a lil hesitant and I'm getting my check engine light intermittently. Especially when accelerating. I think I just got a bad sensor and am getting a bad A/F ratio. Other than that, she tip top again. Now it's finally beer time!

Check to make sure you didn't forget to reattach something. When you lift the motor that much, things can pull apart. Check you codes and tack it down.
A tip I read on this board was to install the pump shaft, use a rubberband to hold the pumpshaft in place, and then install the pump, then cut the rubberband. It worked for me twice. Not enough hands to hold the shaft and hold the pump and tighten the bolts.

I would have pulled the motor out with all that hassle. I can have the motor pulled out of my truck in 2 hours flat, might as well put in a new clutch while I am at it. To each there own.
