I just bought diesel for $3.93 a gal. This station is 3 miles from my house! It's usually about 5-7 cents more than the truck stop 8 miles down the road where I usually get it. It is no less than $4.29 anywhere else, I don't know how they can be so much lower than the others but they are. It's good diesel I've bought there before. But diesel is still about 1.75 higher than I think it should be. But $3.93 is $1.00 less than I was paying about 5 weeks ago so it seems some better.

its actually pretty simple. we used to own a gas station and ill use us as an example. using $4 diesel. the place our fuel came from was about an hour and a half away from us. we didnt have a rig to go pick our fuel up, so we had to buy our gas from a distributor in our town. he would drive the hour and a half with his fleet, pick up tens of thousands of gallons of gas at a time for about $3.40 per gallon. he would bring it back and sell it to local gas stations for about $3.90 per gallon. we would then turn around and sell it for $4 per gallon. if you own your own rigs you can bypass the middle man, go pick your own fuel up and sell it for about 40 cents less than everyone else.
You guys ever consider converting to waste veg. oil? I have only bought diesel a couple times in the last three years... You can convert these trucks for about $250
whoohoo...$50 this morning to top off 3/4 of rear tank = 15.8 mpg, mostly in a crapload of traffic in Virginia Beach

I'm curious- what kind of conversion did you do that was only $250?? All of my research so far has told me either 1. several grand for an engine conversion to straight WVO or 2. process your own biodiesel from waste oil/no conversion. I'd really like to start making my own but I'm a little intimidated by the process...chemistry was never my best subject lol
