So I haven't really looked at the wiring in my truck, but I am at a loss as to how to wire this so it doesn't blink with the blinkers, as well as stay solid with the brake light.
I got one of these
As of now, I have no trailer hitch wiring at all.. can anyone help?
I assume you want it on when the lights are on? If so, can't you simply splice into the tail light wiring for the running lights on your truck? You could splice a matching plug (from Ford?...not sure) into the truck wiring to plug the hitch cover into or get another type of matching male/female plug connection. Just my own thoughts,... good luck!

It's made to just plug into your trailer plug. But since you don't have one, just tie into your rear side marker lights. The flat-4 trailer wire plugs can be bought anywhere and are standardized in their wiring (color/function, etc.) There are just 4 circuits - left turn/brake, right turn/brake, running light, and ground. A circuit tester light will make short work of this project.
Edit: just saw your update. Don't tie into the side markers, lol... You might have to run a wire up to the brake light switch on your pedal to get it to work the way you want it.
most auto parts will give you a seven pin with all the lights including back ups. also a hot wire to charge the battery on the trailer if you have one. there is also a 4 pin already wired in that your hitch plug should plug into, but you would have to check pins for the brake lights
