Behemoth, it's not that I want the American's to do badly or anything, I'd rather see them win than 99.9% of the other countries. Canada and Germany being my home countries I cheer them on as much as I can, and with Canada sucking it up out there I have to throw my full support behind them, maybe they'll get at least one medal out of it . But I will cheer for the U.S if neither of my other countries are involved.
A friend of mine was a member of the U.S. team a long time back (he used a wooden pole in the pole vault). He did not place, but considers it one of his life's greatest experiences.
Define how Cavic beat Phelps but Phelps beat him? Curious... how does qualifying have anything to do with the actual race? Are you saying the Chinese Government favors the USA?

Exactly...if the Chinese government had a way to skew the results away from Phelps, you'd have to know they'd do it in a heartbeat. But instead, we're presented with an argument that suggests that the human eye monitoring a replayed video tape can discern things down to 1/100th of a second, but a pressure sensitive stopclock that is calibrated to at least 1/1000th of a second is inaccurate...riiiiiiight.
By the way...Cavic doesn't seem too upset about the silver....he doesn't look like he feels he was robbed. He must have way more faith in the timeclocks than other people do.
I will stand by my previous assertion...take it up with Omega timepieces.
Nobody's afraid of anything.....you can't argue with a clock that's synchronized with all 8 lanes...there's no conspiracy, no grassy knoll, no smoking gun, no backroom payoff....Phelps won.
I didn't even think he was going to win, myself...but the clock surprised me. I was glad to see it.
