MIG conversion

I just converted my Lincoln MIG welder to use shielding gas, before I was using flux core wire.

WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!!

Welds are clean, easier to control. Now it is as easy to lay a nice bead down with the MIG as it is as my Lincoln ARC welder.

If you are using flux core wire it is absolutely worth the cost to upgrade to shielding gas.

hmmm...think I'll weld up the stake pockets holes and all those body seams on the bed.....

Thanks for the info, been contemplating doing it,,, I have a Millermatic and have been using flux core wire, I used a friends MIG once on my exhaust, noted it was nicer, but doing an exhaust was hard to get to and see,,,,,, I just might have to now!

I'm a newb to welding, but I learned quick that the best use for flux core is on a Sunday when you run outta gas. I had more problems with burn through with flux core, but I have problems welding up-side down with the gas. Need more practice, I suppose.
