2002 Escape XLS trailer wiring help needed
As subject says, I have a 2002 Escape XLS, Front Wheel Drive, 4Cyl., 5 speed man. transm. Don't have factory towing package (it's not even an option on XLS/4cyl/FWD. However, according to manual, I can tow up to 1000lbs and that's enough for my need (small trailer, small runs, etc.)
I already bought/installed Hidden-Hitch #90635.
Last week, visited my dealer and asked for trailer wiring. I was sold YL8Z-13A576-AA (Wiring kit with flat 4-wires) which I installed this morning, connecting it to harness hidden under back left panel in cargo area.
Now, The is no power to both flasher/brake wires. There is power though on parking lights.
I guess I'm missing a relay or converter somewhere. Could someone give me Ford part number and location for that possible "missing link" ?
Thanks in advance !

Not sure I understand your answer. Here is what I bought from my ford dealer:

Then, in my Escape, once side panel removed, There was that (white)connector (Other on right is for 12V power source):

So, "normally", plugging one into the other should do it. However, I used a voltmeter and there is no power coming from both flasher/brake wires. I verified in fuse box and trailer fuses are all there and Ok (in fact, they are the same than vehicle flasher/brakes). So, I guess there is a missing relay somewhere that is normally part of Ford Escape Towing package. If I could find that part number, that may help.
Thanks in advance again !

Is there power to all the wires BEFORE the part you just plug in?

As I'd really prefer to have a complete Ford solution, I continue searching.
If only I could have detailed content (with part numbers) of Ford Escape Towing Package ! I'm sure the answer is there.
Thanks for your help !
Bottomline, if you want Escape factory trailer wiring, you'll need:
YL8Z-13A576-AA Factory wiring assembly
YL8Z-13350-BA (or YL8Z-14N089-BA) Flasher module "supporting" Factory wiring.

I'm "upgrading" my 2002 Escape FWD and have also found that I have only running lights with the Ford trailer harness, so I need to change the flasher module (from the blue one to the yellow one) to get brakes and turn signals on the trailer lights.
