Might anyone know why my '94 will start up cold just fine. After making 1 or 2 stops around town, it won't re-start for 15 min or more afterwards!?
I have already changed out the (can't remember what they're called) distributer thingie (it has electronic ignition) and the other expensive thang that mounts to the left front near the headlight.
Both worked pretty good, but now I'm back to no starts again!
Of course, the Ford techs don't know what it could be. They say just keep removing different things and buying and installing new. Would like to cut out all the bs and see if anyone has experienced similar issues and what you did.
You mean "Ignition Control Modulator"
There is probably a Hot Start Circuit in that truck, which I don't know anything about
Okay Until Franklin & Sparky show up ,
Maybe post specifically what engine, vehicle, and best as possible explanation of exactly what happens.

Any more symptoms when it finally does start? Like black smoke out of the tailpipe? Probably what you need to do is check for spark when it won't start. You need to narrow it down to a ignition problem or a fuel problem. When it won't start, pull one of the sparkplug wires off and stick a screwdriver up in the boot. Then holding the plastic part of the screwdriver, put the metal part of the screwdriver close to something metal on the engine and see if a strong blue spark jumps from the screwdriver when the engine is cranked.
Could it be the starter?? When it gets hot, the heat binds up the bearings inside causeing it not to turn the armature. then when it cools, it enables the starter again. I've heard of that causeing hard starting, but could it also cause it to not start at all??
Thanks for the responses. Will try the spark test again. Did that prior to buying and installing the new module! If no spark, what does that mean? Bad module again?
That would be a bad Ignition Module. I've heard of hard starting after warm up. It is mounted on the side of the Distributor. right next to the wire connector off the stem of the distributor.
Check the tech service bulletins. On some models there was a bad computer ground from the factory that caused an intermittant hard/no start problem. The computer ground can also be damaged by a short in the electrical system caused by an accident or other elctrical problem. I had this problem on a 91 Explorer after an accident shorted the battery. On my vehicle the ground wire in question was located on the radiator support right behind the battery.
