ok so i have an 01' f-250 and heard from a few ppl that i could put a turbo from a ford diesel on my truck. of course there would be some slight mods to the turbo so it wont fry my motor but other than that has anybody done/heard of this? i dont see y it wouldn't work.
I thought about a turbo, but I wouldn't use a diesel one. Get one that is matched to the application. LS
great words of advice, I'd take them too the 04 onward powerstrokes come with vgt turbos which mean you'll have a hell of a time tunning if your not formiliar with eletronic PWM because of the adjustable vanes in the compressor, I myself took the plunge on vgt will see how the testing goes for the logic circuit I designed. . .
It's been tried. Google it. The V10 doesn't have enough compression to get that exact turbo to put out enough volume at lower rpms due to the fact that the turbo was designed to have more exhaust pressure flowing through it, resulting in turbo lag until like 4000 rpm. It was an Aussie who did it a few years ago.

I googled it didn't see it may be you can provide a link please. are you talking about static compression of the motor? though this isn't making sence to me 6.0L engine can get the 20-30psi it needs out of the turbo(so it's getting the volume it needs) but the 6.8L can't even generate enough volume intell 4000rpms, sounds kind of funny
