hey, im trying to take my bed off... i got about 3 bolts off, but the others are just turning, any tips to get these off...i dont have a torch...p.s. -i dont care about the bed
What a pain! I went through this last week! I took an air grinder with a cutting disc and cut a square in the top of the bolts. Then I took a BIG hammer and chisel and knocked the bolts down through the frame. Wasn't too bad once I got going.
Back when I was younger with limited tools, I needed the bolts off of the bed on an '85 Ranger. I took it up to a local shop and for $10 they went ahead and torched 'em off for me. Drove home with the bed bouncing a little loose, but it was just a few blocks over. Just a thought before you burn through a few grinding discs/waste a little time.
Just chisel around the bolt heads till the bolt is loose, then pull the bed off, what's left of bolt will then be easy to vise grip center of bolt and take the nut off however you want to
woo-hooo...... apparently all i needed were thinner cutoff blades for my grinder...that was so easy i dont even know why i crawled underneath there in the first place....thanks guys for all of your input
