We could use the rain, I spent part of this afternoon watering my dried out trees, it`s the wind I hate. We lost a huge and very old Maple tree when a big wind came up for about 20 minutes a couple of years ago......
Morris, we have been watering trees here all summer in both yards. There are sure lots of dead ones around all the sloughs where the water level has been high the last two years and flooded some out!
We ended up with about 1" of rain and the wind broke a few tree branches but nothing to serious. I talked to dad earlier and he said we had over 2'' at the farm so that will be nice to finish the crops off.
Much the same story here. My employee's farm is 15 miles north and they had 1.5" two weeks ago and 1.9" this weekend. Here we had a few tenths in the same time period. They had at least a couple inches more than us prior to this last two week time frame - do you think there will be any crop differences?
