Recently the rear vent window on the pass. side stopped opening, driver side is ok. I looked in the manual and from what I see all windows are on the same fuse. I have not removed the panel to get to the motor to check for voltage. My question is are they all on the same fuse? has anyone had the same issue? anything I can check without removing the panel?
I had that same problem with m pass side rear vent window. I manually rotated the mechanism while he pressed the "open" button. The window opened, but two days later, it would not open again. I did the same thing and now I exercise it every time I think of it to make sure it still works.
The glass maybe just stuck to the seal. Try pressing the button to "Close" the vent and then quickly press open. Sometimes this breaks the seal. If yes, then put a gasket conditioner on seal every 6 months or so in the future.
I have this problem occasionally with my rear windows as well. Seems rocking the switch back and forth seems to free it up most of the time. I was suspecting the motors were getting weak or some bad connection somewhere, but it makes sense that they may be sticking. I will try using some silicone spray on a rag wiped on the seals and see how that helps. Thats an old trick many people do to keep doors from sticking shut in the winter I hear.
Anyone know the trick to unhook the latch mechanism so I can tilt it out a bit more and wipe the seals down well. Will it break something easily if you lean it out too far? This is the first vehicle I have owned with the tilt out rear windows.
Sometimes mine will not work when it's been sitting out in the hot summers heat all closed up, then when you get to moving it cools down in the truck then they both work again. I think it is the overhead switches myself!
